The Schweinfurth offers a weekly Art After School program throughout the school year. Classes integrate art with core classroom curriculum such as language arts, math, and science. Students can be creative while reinforcing academics in a unique environment. Classes meet Wednesday afternoons from 3:45-5pm for a series of six week sessions.
Art After School classes are open to students ages 6-12.

Multiple child (per household) discount is 10% off total. Pre-registration is required. Payment is due at the time of registration.
Telephone registrations require credit card payment. Spaces can not be held without payment. No refunds will be given for cancellations within one week of class start date.
**In the event there is a snow day for the Auburn Enlarged City School District, Art After School will be canceled.

Wednesdays, February 1 - March 14 (no class February 22), 3:45 –5pm
THIS CLASS IS FULL.
Students will explore the art of painting and drawing during this session of art After School. Inspired by the current exhibition, Both Ends of the Rainbow, an annual Cayuga County student and senior citizen exhibition, students will complete projects that examine color, texture, line, and other elements of art. Students should dress for a mess.

Session 2 PAINTILanguage ARTSDRAWING |
Wednesdays, March 21 - May 2 (no class April 11), 3:45 –5pm
During this session of Art After School, students will discover the connection between words and visual art. Led by poet and writer Georgia Popoff, students will create altered books, visual poetry, and other word-based art projects. This class will reinforce language arts skills in a fun and creative way. Participants will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the installation of the Made in NY 2012 exhibition.

| Session 3 PAINTI FINE ARTS SAMPLER |
Wednesdays, May 9 - June 13, 3:45 –5pm
Inspired by the Made in NY 2012 exhibition, this class will focus on a sampling of the fine arts included in the annual exhibition. Each year, artists from New York State exhibit paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs, fiber art and more. This exhibition is an excellent way to expose students to all different artistic media.
