Informal Art Making for Families

Children and their accompanying adults are invited to drop-in art making experiences at the Schweinfurth. Projects are inspired by basic art principles, materials, or techniques and will encourage participants of all ages to make art collectively. Stop in between 1- 4:30pm to complete a project.

No registration required.

Families can complete a project as a group or complete multiple projects individually.  Projects are adaptable for all ages 5 years and up.  Participants will receive instruction and the materials required to complete a project.  Projects take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Snow Sculpting & Snowman Building Contest

plus Three Lakes Sampler Showcase

Sunday, February 12, 1- 4:30pm

FREE for students and members; Suggested admission is $3 for adults.

Snow Sculpting & Snowman Building Contest (1-4:30pm)

Families are invited to create snow sculpture on the front lawn of the Art Center. Artist and teacher Robert Loring will guide families. Families can create a snowman for the snowman building contest. Bring props for your snowman. The winning snowman/sculpture will receive a one-year family membership to the Art Center. Judging will take place at 4:30pm. No registration required. Weather permitting.

Three Lakes Sampler Showcase (2pm)

Students participating in the Three Lakes Sampler exhibition at the Art Center are invited to bring their families and friends to see the exhibition and to read their written work. Students who are interested in reading their work must register by calling 255-1553 by February 10 to register.

Balloon Art & Juggling

Sunday, March 11, 1- 4:30pm

$5 per family

Balloon Animals with Laurie Michelman (1-3pm)

Witness the art of tying balloons as Laurie transforms these inflatable wonders into animals, flowers, and other creations.

Juggling with Luke Petrosino (1-3pm)

Learn the basics of juggling with scarves, tennis balls and more. Parent participation is required.

Balloon art projects (1-4:30pm)

Families will use balloons to make creative and fun art projects.
