Quilting by the Lake Quilt Show & Vendors at Onondaga Community College in the Health, Physical Education & Recreation Building, 4585 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215.  On view July 18 – Thursday, July 29 from 11:30am – 5:30pm. Also open Tuesday evenings, July 20 & July 27, 7 – 9pm.  Closed:  Saturday, July 24.  Open to the public.  Admission:  $6; multi-day:  $15. Members & children under 12 free.

Each of these artist talks will feature an exhibiting artists from Made in NY 2010.  Each artist will discuss their own artwork as well as what it means to be a regional artist.

Screening: Son of Eyeball Man, a short film about the Eyeball Man who is an experiment in atomic warfare gone wrong created by the US Government during the cold war to fight The Soviets, and Up at Lou’s Fish, a documentary about the Fulton Fish Market community, recounting their history as they prepare for relocation to Hunt's Point in the Bronx, after 183 years on South St. & other videos.

Screening: The Possible Fog of Heaven, a consideration of the dimensionality of metaphysics and the metaphysics of dimensionality where Elvis speaks from the afterlife, describing his experience in Heaven, and excerpts from The Poxiox Series, a computer animation series on destiny and the afterlife & other videos.

Screening: Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis, a documentary about the legendary New Yorker Jack Smith (1932-89), an artist unusually bohemian.

Screening: The Cats of Mirikitani, a story about eighty-year-old Jimmy Mirikitani who survived the trauma of WWII internment camps, Hiroshima, and homelessness by creating art. But when 9/11 threatens his life on the New York City streets and Linda brings him to her home, the two embark on a journey to confront Jimmy's painful past.
