Both Ends of the Rainbow, the Schweinfurth Art Center’s annual exhibit of artwork by students from Cayuga County and local senior citizens, was on view January 28 – February 25, 2006. Also on view was artwork from Three Lakes Sampler, a collaborative book project through Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES that showcases the artwork and poetry of local students. The opening reception for Both Ends of the Rainbow was Sunday, January 29th and over 700 people attended.
Both Ends of the Rainbow gives children and seniors in our community the unique opportunity to display their work in a professional art gallery. It offers a memorable and positive experience not only for those participating in the exhibit but also for many of their peers, families and friends. Each year over 1000 works of art are showcased in this exhibit.
This years exhibit featured artwork form many local schools, including: Auburn High School, Casey Park Elementary, East Middle School, Genesee Elementary School, Herman Ave. Elementary, Owasco Elementary School, Seward Ave. Elementary, SS. Peter & Paul School, West Middle School, Emily Howland Elementary, Cato-Merdian Elementary School, Cato-Merdian High School, Millard Filmore Elementary, Moravia Central High School, Moravia Central Middle School, Southern Cayuga Middle School and Union Springs Middle School/High School.
