Bring your wildest creature to life! In this hands-on camp, students will design, build, and perform their very own original monster hand puppet using fabric, mixed materials, and techniques like paper mâché detailing and 3D-printed heads. From sculpting to stitching to stepping into the spotlight, campers will explore the full creative journey - from imagination to performance. Perfect for young artists interested in puppetry.

About the Teacher s

Andrea Dotto is the co-founder of The Dusty & Dott Company, a CNY-based studio developing original theatre and children's media. She is the Creative Producer and Host of the award-nominated children's literacy series Reading Buddies, reaching hundreds of thousands of young learners. A performer, choreographer, and teaching artist, Dotto served as Choreographer for Redhouse Arts Center, Cortland Repertory Theater & SUNY Cortland. She made her Broadway debut as Betsy in Bandstand, earning a Chita Rivera Award nomination for Outstanding Ensemble Dancer. When she is not on stage, she is teaching the next generation of performers how to find and own their authentic voice.

Brendan Malafronte is the creative force behind The Dusty & Dott Company. Malafronte toured internationally with John Tartaglia’s Imaginocean. He has puppeteered for Disney Cruise Line, Nickelodeon, & PBS. As a designer and builder, Brendan received his initial training at The Puppet Kitchen. He co-founded The Dusty & Dott Company, creating PBS’s Reading Buddies, which received 3 New York State Emmy nominations and has worked as a builder for The Jim Henson Company.
